Gelli Printed Faces!!
So today let’s talk faces… I was terrified the first time I tried to draw a portrait. Let me preface with it does NOT come easy to me at all. Let me also say that i like the imperfect faces, just like I prefer the more organic, raw and imperfect art.
In 2016 I think is when I tried to draw and it was terrifying and took a lot of practice to get to where I am today. However I still can “over work” a face to a place that is just to plain and put together for me. That being said I wanted to try creating loose and expressive faces on my gelli plate. Why gelli plate? Because as I thought of one way to stay loose my gelli plate is always the tool that is unpredictable and freeing. So why not combine the two and see what happens. I am really liking the results of these and my goal here is not to complete a finished portrait it is simply a way to create a base. Although I will say some of these only need a few tweaks.
So here is the video for you and I hope it inspires you to try it and let me know your thoughts.
